Journey with us back in time to the days of splendor in ancient Córdoba, the cosmopolitan seat of the Umayyad Caliphate.

Under this caliphate, subjects of different religious beliefs not only coexisted, but prospered for centuries.

We will start with the breathtaking 9th-century Great Mosque, currently the second biggest in the world, and which holds embedded at its core the magnificent 16th-century Christian Catholic cathedral.

Our tour will continue through the medieval fortress known as the Alcázar of Córdoba (Córdoba Castle), an ancient royal residence which is somber on the outside but resplendent on the inside, with magnificent gardens and where Renaissance elements and Mudejar (Moorish) inspiration come together in perfect harmony.

We will then explore the beautifully preserved Jewish Quarter, where a thriving Jewish community prospered alongside Muslims and Christians for centuries.

In order to complete our journey into the spirit of Córdoba and its culture, we will learn about flamenco dance and the local purebred horses.

A visit to a flamenco school reveals how the complex art is taught, and later, an exhibition of dressage and campera culminates in the unique and unforgettable spectacle of horses dancing in unison with flamenco performers.
